How long should you keep your blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, found鈥?before throwing it out and getting new?

It should say on most makeup products. On the bakc their should be a little container with a number like 9m in it representing nine months. How long should you keep your blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, found鈥?before throwing it out and getting new?
As long as you are not sharing it, you can keep it a long time because the bacteria in it is yours.

If it is liquid foundation- get one with a pump so it stays more fresh. Foundation will grow bacteria that will cause break outs if you put your fingers in it.

Some companies will tell you to replace cosmetics after a few weeks or months. This is a gimmick to get you to buy more. I have had some of the same eyeshadows for 10 years- I have LOTS of make-up- and I never have had a problem when I use it again.

The cosmetics that I use in my business, I do replace if it gets cross contaminated to protect my clients. How long should you keep your blush, eyeliner, eyeshadow, found鈥?before throwing it out and getting new?

mascara: 3 to 4 months

nail polish: up to 1 year
