Orange is opposite blue on the color wheel. So, oranges and peaches always make blue eyes ';pop';. Also, you can try a light cream shimmer all over the lid, a denim blue in the crease, and a little brown on the inside of the lid (nearest your nose). That always works for me. Also, make sure to experiment. Hope it helps! :)

Apply the lightest color all over lid, you can use a brown and line your upper lash line with the shadow, add at least 2 coats of mascara and watch your eyes POP! Another trick is to use a light lipstick or just gloss, your eyes will stand out!

A basic idea...
Try using a nude type shade that is peach or beige as a base color and/or highlighter color. Use a pinkish purple or coral shade as an all over lid color (except under the brow), then for the crease use a mid toned brown or beige. Line with a coppery brown. You can also use a pink eyelining/highlighter pencil to line just at the inner corners of the eye for a more refreshed/wide eyed look. Use a dark brown or brown/black mascara to finish it off.

The silver, gold, purple, and blue are great! I got them 6/$25.00 plus one free! :)

It'll become your best friend. You can find one at your near-by Sephora.
Also, you could use a wet white eyeshadow to create a base.
Yes, you apply water on your white eyeshadow, mix it, and it'll create a nice consistency, you apply it on your lid, let it sit and then apply a bright shadow to your lid, you'll notice that it'll pop more than ever!
Like someone else said, that's a primer, not a base.
You need both.
I like to use cream eyeshadow.
You can also wet your brush before applying.

yeah try Urban decay primer potion.
or for example if your wearing a blue eyeshadow then after UDPP put a creme coloured base f blue or MAC has shade sticks aswell they will really maake ur e/s pop.
Wear a primer. Also try wetting your brush. The color shows up more and stays longer. Use cream eye shadows.
use that eye primer from mac.maybe your brushes are cheap and don't work well.mac products are amazing.try them out.just play around with different eye shadows to see which one works best.

or for example if your wearing a blue eyeshadow then after UDPP put a creme coloured base f blue or MAC has shade sticks aswell they will really maake ur e/s pop.
Wear a primer. Also try wetting your brush. The color shows up more and stays longer. Use cream eye shadows.
use that eye primer from mac.maybe your brushes are cheap and don't work well.mac products are amazing.try them out.just play around with different eye shadows to see which one works best.

That sounds strange, but I want to try something out. I'm not looking to spend a fortune on MAC makeup or anything name-brand, really, and I want the colors to be very bright. I've tried looking in CVS and a couple drugstores, but I can't really find anything.

Well you aren't going to find a true red eyeshadow anywhere because red is not eye-safe. Any red that you find will be more of a cranberry or a burgundy, but not true red. As for the yellow and orange, I recommend Make Up For Ever. They are more expensive than MAC however for less than $5 more you get DOUBLE the product. If you really are on a budget I would try out Ben Nye, which always seems to be fairly affordably-priced and you can buy it at most costume supply stores.

ive seen a lot at longs %26amp; some at walgreens. They arent the the bigger brands like loreal although loreal has hip eyeshadows. There the generic brands. Ive gotten wet n wild eyeshadow in red %26amp; orange.
Hot Topic sometimes has them but not always.
I went to target the other day and saw some too.
Sephora has A LOT %26amp; its cheaper than MAC although mac would have the best %26amp; brightest. Urban Decay is sold at Sephora.
When do you need it by. Ebay always has good deals %26amp; a variety.
Claires does in those little kiddie play makeup sets.
Max Factor is sold at drugstores walmart.

Well you aren't going to find a true red eyeshadow anywhere because red is not eye-safe. Any red that you find will be more of a cranberry or a burgundy, but not true red. As for the yellow and orange, I recommend Make Up For Ever. They are more expensive than MAC however for less than $5 more you get DOUBLE the product. If you really are on a budget I would try out Ben Nye, which always seems to be fairly affordably-priced and you can buy it at most costume supply stores.

Try your nearest party stores. They're more like to have these colors as they are more commonly worn with Halloween costumes or on Ronald McDonald.

Also MAC Cosmetics has nice colours. Prices are about 16$ CND for a thing of eyeshadow. It's worth it. I think but apperantly they test on animals. So if you're against that then I'd suggest looking at the packaging before you buy. If not then both MACs and the products in Sephora are where I'd go.

If you want to 'tone down the look' and not make it so bright and colorful then try colors like brown, gold, black, and a darkish grey. Personally I think turquoise and orange are wild enough, so another way to help tone down the look is to not wear any eyeshadow at all. This might actually be a better option, since both turquoise and orange are already distracting enough.
Instead of eyeshadow, you could just wear some blush.
But if you're still not persuaded, and still don't think your outfit is colorful enough, then colors like purple and bright neon yellow. These colors would make your outfit more exciting, and outgoing. And just a little bit on the crazy side, but in the best kind of way, haha. Also If I'm not mistaken, you could also use a bright green for somewhat of a ';tropical look'; but depending on your eye color I'm not sure how'd it go.

Orange eyeshadow?
I'm wanting an orange eyeshadow, can anyone recommend one to me? I want it to be true orange, not a browny coppery colour, something diffrent for the summer 'cause you don't see it very often! It'd be great to get one that's really bright yet can go on sheer too and can blend well with other colours, especially black!

The beauty of having brown eyes is almost any color of brown or green looks nice. I wouldn't suggest brighter colors of blue or green though. Those can be a bit difficult to wear with brown eyes. You can even get away with greys as well.
Basically EVERYTHING goes with browns! I've seen yellows, blues, greens, purples, browns, pinks, greys, etc. I have brown eyes, and my faves are purples and blues. I use a deeper shadow up till a little above the crease, then a shimmery lighter shade overlapping the crease. When I use blues, I use this Midnight Blue eyeliner which works great with brown eyes!

Plums are great but if you are tired they can accentuate any redness, the more modern soft greens are good with a more dramatic green on the outside corner (just a lil bit) you can get dark green eyeliner pencil that if you use on the inner upper lid, really shows the hazel off and most people can tell your even wearing eyeliner.
Very very pale pink has worked for me too.
You can buy the midnight blue/black eyeshadows (must be a good quality ie Channel) and use very lightly on the inner side of the eyelid, so it only looks light grey/blue and gradually apply a bit heavier towards the outside so it looks more purple/grey, then wet the applicator and carefully use as an eyeliner along the top of lashes (looks more purple/blue-black), you can also line the lower lid like this for 3/4 of it - going from the outer to inner, in direction. This is a good look for going out at night or with blonde hair as its dramatic but really looks good on hazel eyes, especially if you have larger/round/almond shaped eyes.
Brush on a light color over the the lid and brow. Use a slightly darker color on lid. In the crease of the eye use the darkest color, smooth it out and up. On brow bone use the lightest.
Maybelline has the coolest liner. It's so fined lined, until once applied looks like one was born with it. The new mascara by Cover Girl is great, too. Doesn't flake or smudge, plus it conditions.
Now! colors. Hazel eyes are the most blessed. You're able to use any color. Smokey greens are in. Smokey any colors are in. Light pink going to violent is the bomb on the %26lt;eyes%26gt;:]. I have very fair skin, and I think using a light-medium brown eyeshadow isn't too dark. I love the brown's from the L'Oreal HIP line, and I think Covergirl has a great, wide selection of browns. I also think it helps to apply with an eyeshadow brush that you buy seperatley at any drug or grocery store (you can find them for really cheap). The one's that come along with they eyeshadow sometimes apply the shadow to harshly, making it look less natural.
Try Urban Decay in half baked. You can get it at Sephora. Its a light, shimmery brown that looks awesome on girls with really fair skin!
I use CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe. It's a nice shimmery color.

I have very fair skin, and I think using a light-medium brown eyeshadow isn't too dark. I love the brown's from the L'Oreal HIP line, and I think Covergirl has a great, wide selection of browns. I also think it helps to apply with an eyeshadow brush that you buy seperatley at any drug or grocery store (you can find them for really cheap). The one's that come along with they eyeshadow sometimes apply the shadow to harshly, making it look less natural.
Try Urban Decay in half baked. You can get it at Sephora. Its a light, shimmery brown that looks awesome on girls with really fair skin!
I use CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe. It's a nice shimmery color.

Maybelline makes a shimmery copper duo that looks really beautiful - not too dark! :)
use NARS in Ashes to Ashes!!
i have really fair skin and i use this. it's sheer with a bit of shimmer. you can layer it to make it darker too. you should try this, worth the money! trust me. or you can go to a sephora store and try on different ones just to be sure :D

To apply dark eye makeup, first apply a cream base in a light to medium colour for a smoother appearance, brush on dark eyeshadow with a tapered brush in the crease. The best way to take care of this is simple but will take some practice at the same time. Its always good to put a primer on your eyes to make sure the eyeshadow doesnt crease or et clumpy with time (Try: Urban Decay's primer, its sold at Sephora). Next, do NOT rely on your finger to do a great job. Invest in the proper brushes. Its always good to have a small to medium sized eyeshadow brush that can fit perfectly in the crease of your eyelid and spread eyeshadow evenly everywhere. As far as applying eyeshadow goes, you are right, dark shadows can be tricky. You have to take your time until u r good at it. make sure your crease of your eyelid is the darkest shaded part on your eye. From Crease up should be lightest, and crease down should not be too light or too dark. (Sorry this answer is long, but i know my make up applications) Also, to create a more sophisticated effect, the inner corner of your eyes should be lined with shadow, as well as the bottom lashline (best for a smokey-eye look).

use your fingertip and apply the dark shadow just on your eyelids. then take a bronzey color and apply that on top of the dark and blend them together. This makes dark colors remain dark but it also gives it a little bit of a glowy sparkly effect.
got o MAC make up or to a department store and ask them to do you eye shawdow using a dark color so that you can see how to do it...it should be free but i think at Mac you have to spend like $50 for the make over

Basically for eye makeup you will need a slanted cut square brush to apply powder to eyebrow %26amp; draw for cream eyeliners.
A fluffy flat dome brush to apply powder eyeshadow to whole eyelid
a compact square shape brush to apply colours more intensely.
A bullet shaped brush for softning lines of eyeliners
A thin brush for liquid eyeliner
well in my opinion it matters if you know how to put on the makeup. because you get different textures and looks by the way you hold the brush.
i think for getting a true color you should use mac makeup brushes, either one is good. doesnt matter. just make sure you get like eyeshadow brushes for eyeshadow. lol
you can get like cheaper ones that are still pretty good. you can get them at like target or like CVS. its like 3-10 dollars.

ELF Studio line has great brushes for only $3 each. I would recommend the smudge brush, the contouring brush, the eye shadow brush and the small precision brush. I did the smokey look with this brushes and it look awesome!

If you want mac brushes, as starter, I suggest 239 (flat shader brush) and 217 (blending brush).
If you're on budget, there are bunch of other cheaper alternative brushes that works well also. Sonia Kashuk (target) blending brush is one of the best. E.L.F has great eye brushes also, for only $1. Essence of beauty brush is one of the best drugstore brushes out there too. Hope that helps! :)red hair
